Designed in 1969 by French designer André Cazenave, the Dora Lamp was produced by Atelier A and is distinguished by its organic form, reminiscent of a naturally weathered stone or rock.
Its fiberglass (polyester resin) structure is finished with marble powder applied to the surface. When unlit, it has the quiet presence of a sculpture; when illuminated, it emits a soft, warm glow from within. More than a light source, it functions as a sculptural object that gives character and atmosphere to a space.
This example is an especially substantial XL size, a format that is rarely encountered. Its generous scale allows the sculptural form and distinctive surface texture to be fully appreciated, particularly when used as a floor lamp.
The original Atelier A label remains on the underside, confirming its maker and provenance. Together with its rare large size, strong condition and original details, this is a highly desirable example for collectors seeking an authentic Dora Lamp.
The lamp has been tested and is in working order. The surface shows age-appropriate scratches and marks, but no damage that significantly detracts from its appearance.
